After mile after mile of the same treetops, none of the scenery was catching his eye. He looked around the plane, admiring the expensive merchandise that he had worked so hard to afford. Owning Juggernaut Inc. for over 10 years had paid off well, and the nearly unlimited supply of money had taken care of both his own needs, and the simple needs of hundreds of African children. He had no idea that somebody wanted to kill him, or would he know why.
***
Gloria Rinehart sat on the other side of the plane. Having been Mr. Mosey’s assistant and close friend since he was a simple man with a large dream, Gloria was accustomed to long flights with him and his bodyguard, Pat. Black hair, brown eyes, and an hourglass figure made her look more like a model than a scientist, but here she was. Afraid of planes, Gloria took a Valium and drifted off to sleep.
***
Pat sat bored in a chair, exhausted from being up all night but still tied to his duty. It was his job to make sure that Mosey and his mysterious briefcase made it to Brazil, though he didn’t know why. Unable to stay awake another moment, Pat was about to fall asleep when he noticed a sudden change in course. Were not supposed to be going this way! He thought. He rushed up to the cockpit. “What the hell are you doing!” he yelled to the pilot.
“Oh, we’re having heavy winds, we have to fight with it so we don’t get blown of course. No worries,” the pilot replied. Though it sounded suspicious the Pat, he knew his job, and it wasn’t to tell the pilots what they were supposed to do. He wandered back into his chair and, out of boredom, began to study the handgun in his holster.
***
About 10 minutes later, Pat noticed, once again, another change in course. Only this time, they were landing. Pat rushed to the cockpit with his gun in his hand, and yelled, “Hey! Stop, were not supposed to land for 2 more hours!” But he never got there. The copilot jumped out from the bathroom and with a muffled crack, knocked him unconscious, using his gun like a small club. The last thing Pat saw was his evil grin before he blacked out.
***
Mosey looked up from his laptop at the muffled sound of something hitting the floor. What the hell is going on up there? He thought. He ran to the noise, not realizing the danger he was in. 5 seconds later, he collapsed on the floor, blood streaming from his knee. Gasping in pain, he looked up at the copilot, with the pistol still in his hand. He looked down at Mosey, his evil smile piercing his brain. But he had made a huge mistake- he had forgotten the silencer. And things were about to get a whole hell of a lot worse.
***
Gloria was awakened by the sound of the gunshot. But unlike Mosey and Pat, she realized the danger she was in when she heard Mosey’s cries of pain. Grabbing the pistol hidden underneath every chair, she cautiously crept toward the cockpit. Satisfied that the copilot had gone back to his seat, she began silently walking over to Mosey when she saw Pats limp body, with blood flowing from the back of his head. Grabbing the first aid kit hidden in the restroom, she bandaged Pats head and gently prodded him from his unconscious state. “Huh?” He muttered. Gloria covered his mouth and whispered in his ear, warning him about danger. At the realization that Mosey and the whole plane were in danger, he lightly pushed himself up, trying to ignore the throbbing pain in the back of his head. Grabbing his handgun, he silently slipped to the door of the cockpit. Damn, its locked, he thought. While walking back to the other two passengers, the cockpit door suddenly opened. It was the copilot, gun hanging from his hand.
The copilot raised his gun at pats back and fired. Two shots were enough to send him reeling, and he fell to the floor, dead next to Gloria’s feet. Gloria, on the floor tending to Mosey, heard the shots and immediately leveled the small pistol in her hand. The bullet flew, striking the copilot square in the head. The first shot killed him instantly, but the second shot went wild as the plane turned suddenly. Running to the cockpit, Gloria stared in shock. The second bullet had shot the pilot square in the back, through the chair. He was dead. The two human dangers were gone, replaced by a new, horrible realization. Gloria had no idea how to fly a plane.
***
Chinao Matsu, chief of the Hakamoto tribe, crept through the Amazon rainforest, stalking the prey that would soon be dinner for his family. He pulled his bow taught, and released the arrow. The shot would have been true, except for one major problem. A giant metal beast scared his prey away. The giant shining machine bounced in the soft mud a few times before stopping. Had it hit grass or rocks, it would have disintegrated, and those in it would have been killed. Chinao and his hunting party stared in amazement as a young woman with brown hair and blue eyes limped out of it, dragging a bleeding man behind her.

Chapter 1
Superior Lake, 2008

“Hey Chad, bring me the diving suits, will ya?” A tall, tan man with dark hair yelled out to his partner.
“Sure thing, Dirk. Hey, did you see the underwater cameras anywhere?” Chad replied.
“No, sorry. Look in the storage section underneath the boat.” Dirk and Chad, were friends since high school, and worked together on pretty much everything. They worked for the same company, Juni Corps, a secret government organization specializing in underwater exploration and artifact recovering. Though originally hired to sit behind a desk and monitor progress, Dirk and Chad often when beyond the call of duty, dedicated to their projects and to those that they worked with. This one in particular was set to rise an old steamboat from the 1950’s, one that was rumored to carry hundreds of thousands worth of jewelry, and ancient artifacts.
***
Tyler Moore, a short white man with brown hair and large, brown eyes, stared at the underwater life in front of him. A man of adventure, he had rented his own submarine and had ventured into the world beneath the see. Much more fun than snorkeling, He thought to himself with a small chuckle.
***
Dirk dropped the scanner into the greenish water. The search for the S.S. Puerto Rico was about to begin. Dirk and Chad were both used to long, tedious hunts, knowing that a full search could take hours, or even days. Chad slowly walked up the steps onto the deck, carrying with him a few sandwiches and two bottles of beer. “Lunchtime,” he said.
“Oh, great. Tuna sandwiches. My favorite,” Dirk muttered to himself. He grabbed a sandwich and beer from Chad, and started to eat, eyes glued to the Sonar screen. They got lucky today. About 10 minutes later, there was an inconsistency in the ocean floor, maybe showing a shipwreck, hopefully the one they were looking for. Half an hour later, they were both dressed in their diving suits, cameras ready and tanks filled with air.
***
The inside of the submarine was now cast in a red glow, alarms blaring. Tyler was nervous now, not knowing what exactly had happened, but he knew that something was wrong. He just didn’t know what. He ran to the other end of the sub, and what he saw shocked him. There was a hole in the floor. He could see the water. He held on to a rail as the submarine went down, faster and faster until it hit something with a loud thump. Right next to a shipwreck, one he could see the name on. The SS. Puerto Rico.
***
Dirk and Chad began their descent into the murky water. The S.S. Puerto Rico, was waiting for them, they were almost sure of it, they just had to see it for themselves. Then they could raise it. Chad began think of what the money could be used for. He had never taken any treasure he had uncovered for himself, had always told Captain Juni to give it to charity, or keep it for the agency.
As they sank lower and lower, Dirk could barely see an outline of a ship: encrusted with algae, but it was still a ship. But there was one thing that struck him as odd; there was a submarine about 50 feet away from it, propped up against a rock. At first, he just thought it was just another wreck. But something seemed to be out of place; he just couldn’t figure it out. And then it hit him. It wasn’t encrusted with algae, and you could still see the gleam from the metal body, made very clear from the flashlight he was carrying. It was a brand new submarine. It was still running. And there was a possibility that there was somebody inside.
Alive.

Chapter 2

Tyler was afraid. He wasn’t an overly smart man, but he knew that soon he was going to run out of oxygen. Then there would only be carbon dioxide left, for him to breathe. Trying to save his breath and increase the chance of being saved, He laid down, closed his eyes, and stayed as still as possible.
***
Dirk slowly crawled his way to the submarine, hopeful that whoever was in there was alive. He pressed the button on the mini intercom, and started talking through it. “Hey, Chad, you see that sub over there, right?”
“Yeah, what about it?”
“Look at it for a second,” he replied.
“Oh, my God,” Chao gasped, “Its new! That would mean that-“
“Yes. Whoever was in that sub is probably still alive. Which would also mean we should probably get him out. I bet he’d appreciate it,” Dirk said.
“Yeah, you bet your ass he would. Look on the outside- There’s a jagged hole in the bottom. See it there?”
Dirk swam over to the hole as fast as he could. The hole… didn’t look like it was caused by anything in nature. It looked like an explosion.
***
Tyler was starting to breathe heavier as the oxygen in the air began to deplete. At least the water isn’t pouring through the hole, or I’d be dead a lot sooner, he thought. Even though the water was high, he still had a pocket of air left. Looking out the porthole next to him, he studied the ship for a few minutes. Then, out of nowhere, two men in diving suits flashed by the window. One of them stopped, looked at him, and stuck his thumbs up as if saying, “It was going to be okay.” Relieved that he had gotten lucky enough for these two to be near him when the sub went down, Tyler smiled to himself and awaited his rescue.
***
“Poor guy,” Dirk said to himself. His face was starting to turn red, and he looked as if he was breathing harder than normal. “Chad, come on, we gotta get this guy out. Now,” he said to his friend. Dirk and Chad swam toward the hole in the bottom of the sub. Fortunately for them and the man inside, the hole never touched the rock, leaving plenty of room for three men to get in and out. Swimming through the sub, the two reached the pocket of air that the man was struggling in. His face was turning purple. He did not have much time left- maybe another half hour. “Quick, Chad, help me pick him up,” Dirk said. The two men picked up the man’s limp body. As they carried him through the sub, lending him a reserved tank that they kept for emergencies like this, Dirk felt a sudden shift in the subs weight, followed by a lighter-than-air feeling, and then a sudden thump as the sub struck the ocean floor. Dirk and Chad raced the man back to the air pocket, then went back to inspect the hole. Where the hole used to be, there was now sand, indicating that they indeed had hit the floor. They were trapped inside the sub.

Chapter 3

Derek Juni was worried now. Being the leader of Juni Corps, Juni controlled everything that went on in the agency. He was also the boss of Dirk and Chad, but had developed a close, almost brotherly relationship with them. And now he hadn’t heard from them in almost two hours. Most wreck inspections should take about a half hour for them, since the real inspection bean after the boat was raised. Juni could tell that something had gone very, very wrong. And he dreaded the feeling.
***
Tyler, now wide-awake after receiving fresh air, was sick with dread. Chad, on the other hand, was not worried at all. Neither was Dirk, for they had been in situations like this before. Dirk’s resourcefulness and plain luck had gotten them out of many dangerous, even life threatening positions. Dirk probably has a plan already, he thought.

Dirk had been inspecting his surroundings for about a half an hour. He knew that there had to be something in the sub that would help them get out. Opening a utility closet, Dirk saw a shovel hidden way in the back. Normally, he would wonder why the hell there was a shovel in a submarine in the first place, but who was he to question fate. Dirk started toward the hole, passing Chad and Tyler on the way. “Wait, where are you going?” Chad asked.
“We’re going to dig our way out,” Dirk replied with a grin. He started toward the hole again. Some sand had crept through the hole, making his job harder, though not by much. Dirk put both hands on the shovel and began digging his way into the sand.
***
Juni paced around his office, waiting for a call from Dirk, or Chad, or any news about them. 10 minutes later, he got it. The phone rang, and he grabbed it eagerly, hoping for Dirk or Chad to be on the other line. “Hello?” he answered.
“Juni, its Dirk. Sorry about the hang-up, we just got a little sidetracked. We had to put the S.S. Puerto Rico on hold for a little while. But- I have some bad news.”
“What? What happened?” Juni asked nervously.
“We- we lost Chad. We rescued some guy that was stuck in a submarine, then got stuck ourselves, and Chad never made it out I’m sorry.” Juni put the phone down on his desk and sat down in his chair. He never expected that Chad, one of the best marine agents that he had, could be gone so quickly. “Juni? Juni!” He picked up the satellite phone again. “Juni, hes fine. I’m just messin’ with your head.”
“Whats up, Juni?” Chad’s voice sounded over the phone.
“AGGH!” Juni yells,” don’t do that ever again you sick son of a bitch! I should’ve known that I’m never going to be rid of you guys, the way seem to keep escaping danger.
“Huh? Oh, yeah, yeah,” dirk muttered distractedly. “Look, I’m gonna have to get back to you okay? Something doesn’t seem right here.” Before Juni had a chance to answer. Dirk hung up on him.
“He never learns to stay out of trouble,” Juni chuckled to himself.
***
Tyler sat on a bench on the deck of the Calypso, the boat Dirk and Chad had been riding on. He hadn’t yet fully recovered from the accident yet, he was still shaky and tired, but the cup of coffee Dirk had brought him had warmed him up a little bit.
Dirk sat next to him on the bench, watching him try to warm himself back up. “Tyler, lemme ask you somethin’. When the sub sank- did you see anything? Any Explosions? Torpedoes? Stuff like that?”
Tyler thought for a moment. “You know, now that you mention it,” he began, “It seemed like the crash had come suddenly, as if something had hit the sub.”
“Really?” Dirk questioned further. ‘Is there anybody that might have wanted to harm you- any enemies, business rivals, anybody that would have motive?”
“N- no’, Tyler replied shakily. Something about what he had asked had spooked him, Dirk could tell.
“Tyler, is there anything you’re not telling me? The bottom of the sub was blown open by a torpedo or explosion. Is there something you’re hiding from me?”
“I’m not hiding anything from you!” Tyler replied angrily. “I’m just- just a little shaken up, that’s all.” Dirk didn’t press any further. He had heard enough out of Tyler. There was something he wasn’t telling him, and Dirk was going to find out what it was, no matter what he had to do.
“Alright,” he said to Tyler. “You should go get some rest. Were going to be back on dry land tomorrow. You can go see your family.” Dirk headed down the stairs below deck, out of sight from Tyler. Chad walked past him and turned to look at him
“Did you find anything out?” he asked eagerly.
‘Well Chad; it looks like were going to be making another dive. Better go get our diving suits.”
“Great. Just what I wanted to do after being trapped inside a submarine for an hour,’ he said in an annoyed voice.
“Chad, there’s something that our friend Tyler doesn’t want to tell us. And it’s our job to find out what that thing is.”

Chapter 4
A small guppy meandered its way around the bunched of coral on the ocean floor. Snapping up bits of algae as it swam along, it came across two giant creatures with strange scales. Deciding it would be in its own best interest to hunt for food somewhere else, the guppy veered to the left and out of site of the two lake strangers.
“Dirk, what exactly is it that we’re looking for again? Chad asked through the intercom.
“Anything that might give us a clue to what Tyler is keeping from us. The guy obviously doesn’t want us to know something. And when somebody doesn’t want us to know something-“
‘It’s our job to find out what it is,” Chad finished for him. Chad knew that phrase by heart; Dirk used it all the time. Chad kicked his way over to the submarine. ‘Dirk, I’ll go this way, you go the other way. Okay?”
“Yeah sure, go ahead.” Dirk swam around the submarine at an excruciatingly slow pace, inspecting every inch of the submarine. Fortunately, being a single person, rented submarine, it was small and didn’t take long to inspect the outside. Suddenly, Chad’s voice came through the intercom again.
“Hey Dirk. I found something!” Dirk quickly kicked his way over to Chad, careful not to kick up dust that could stay unsettled for days and hinder their investigation. Swimming toward Chad, who had wandered to the top of the submarine, he saw something that shocked him. There was a large dent in the metal, almost enough for the metal to have broken. Had that happened, Dirk thought, Tyler would have been dead.
“You know Chad,” Dirk said, “I think what were looking for just might be in the submarine.”
***
“Wow,” Chad exclaimed. Where the large dent had been, there lay a small missile, small enough to have been missed on the way in, yet big enough to cause a noticeable hole in the subs bottom. Chad let out a small wolf whistle. “That’s not good. That would mean that somebody was trying to kill our buddy Tyler. Think this torpedo might tell us who?”
“Well, there’s no harm in checking,” Dirk replied. Walking over to the missile, Dirk had a feeling that all distinguishing marks would have been filed away or scraped off. He was right. There were no distinguishing marks on it, no serial number, company name, or identification of any kind. But being a government agent, Dirk knew something that a lot of people didn’t.
‘Chad,” Dirk said, “I suggest we get this back up to our boat so we can inspect our dangerous little friend more closely.
“Why, what do you have in mind, Dirk?” Chad asked him.
‘I think our killers might have just made a fatal mistake,” he replied mysteriously.
Chapter 5
It didn’t take long to get the small missile back to the boat. It also didn’t take long for Dirk to find the serial code hidden inside the nose cone. Fifteen minutes of screwing and unscrewing, Dirk had found exactly what he was looking for. He picked up the phone and punched in a few numbers.
“Hello?” Juni answered when he picked up the phone.
“Hey, Juni, it’s Dirk. You know that guy we rescued from the sub? Well I had a feeling that what had happened wasn’t an accident. And I was right. Can you do me a favor and check something out for me?” Dirk told him the rest of the story and the serial code that he had found.
“Alright Dirk. Ill check it out and get back to you as soon as I can, alright?”
“Ok, thanks,” Dirk replied. “Talk to you later then. Dirk hung up the phone and waited.
***
A man in an expensive suit sat in a desk, in an office overlooking all of NYC. This man, Rick Sereday , had a rather good life, as the owner of his corporation Lionheart; he was a multi billionaire with an expensive house and convertible. But it never seemed to be enough for Rick. There was always more money to have, more competition to eliminate. Tyler Moore was one of those competitions. He had simply gotten in the way of business, and he had to be eliminated. His revolutionary new technology could have ruined him and his company, and he wasn’t about to let that happen.
Rick pressed a small button on his desk. “TD, can you come here for a second? I need to talk to you. Nobody knew Rick’s right hand man’s real name, he was referred to only as TD.
“Yes, sir?”
“Is out problem taken care of? Is Tyler Moore dead?”
“The last I saw, sir, his sub was sinking to the bottom of Superior Lake.”
Good,” Rick said, “good work
“Thank you, sir.” TD started to walk away.
“Oh wait TD, one more thing. There were two men that apparently witnessed the sub sinking, or saw it on the floor. I’m not sure of their names, but I think that it’s Dirk and Chad. These two are a nuisance. Rid us of them.”
“As you wish sir,” TD replied diligently. TD left the room. Before going back to his quarters, he stopped at a room on his left, stuck a key in the lock, and opened it.
TD stared with contentment at the sleeping woman in the large cage.
***
Half an hour later, the phone rang again. Dirk eagerly snatched it up. “Hello?” he answered.
“Dirk, it’s Juni. I did some backtracking and searching, and I managed to connect the torpedo to a corporation by the name of Lionheart. It’s run by a man named Rick Sereday, and the company specializes in ore mining and manufacturing of metal products.”
“Really?” Dirk said. “Well I have a feeling we might just be getting closer to the truth. Did you happen to look into Tyler’s history at all?”
“No sorry. I’ll get right on it though.”
Alright thanks,” Dirk said, “just be quick about it. I want to pay out friends at Lionheart a little visit.”
***
Looking back, TD could remember the first time he saw the woman. He had been in the Amazon rainforest, looking for possible new mining areas. He guessed it was just simple luck when he had been carrying an AK47 with him.
Running through the forest, he had heard the sound of natives chanting… something. He had followed the sound, and what he saw had shocked him. The Amazon natives were getting ready for a feast, but not a normal feast with the animals of the forest. They were preparing to feed on a human. More specifically, a young girl with black hair and brown eyes. Sickened at the thought, he had attempted to evade the natives and rescue the girl. It hadn’t worked out so well. One of the natives had spotted him, and before he knew it, he was being charged. In self-defense, TD had fired off the 47, killing a lot of the natives, but not all of them. He started to run away. The natives chased him. They caught up to him just as he had reached the clearing where his helicopter was landed. He remembered how the girl had saved his life, picking off the natives with a handgun when they surrounded him, his 47 clips empty after the previous conflict. He had rescued this girl, he had rescued her, and they had formed a bond together.
In his surprise, he had spilled to this woman, who revealed her name as Gloria, Lionheart’s plans and the reason he was in the Amazon rainforest. After sharing some details about each other, they had begun to fall in love with each, forming a strong bond that couldn’t easily be broken. But when Gloria had told him about the plane crash, the dangerous copilots, and how the natives had eaten her boss Mosey, TD realized that, as Mosey’s assistant, a man who had tried to undermine and destroy the company, that Rick was in fact the one who sent the assassins. When they had landed back at Lionheart, Rick had decided that she knew too much and was too involved to be set free. So they had trapped her in the cage. At first, she was angry at being imprisoned, but later, she had begun to get used to it. She was still given food and entertainment, and TD had almost begun to think of her as his pet. His kitty.

Chapter 6
The flight to NYC was a relatively quick one, but to Dirk and Chad, what was soon to come made it seem like hours. The plan was relatively simple. A basic spy mission, infiltrate, look around, find what they needed to find, and get the hell out before it got bad. The only problem was- spy missions don’t always work. And Rick Sereday was a smart man.
“Hey, Chad, did we bring the flashlight with us?” Dirk asked.
“Ummmm… I think so, let me check.” Chad shuffled through the bag, looking for the flashlights. While moving things around, he came across a magazine; Playboy: special edition 2007. “Wow. Nice job, Dirk! But what the hell did you bring it for? We’re on a mission, we don’t need Playboy taking up space.”
“Hey, I didn’t bring it. What are you yellin at me for? Juni gave me the bag!” Dirk strapped on a small backpack, filled with cameras, a small pistol with silencer, and a number of spying items. “Alright, Chad. I think we’re ready to go! Lets kick some ass!” The two men headed toward Lionheart Corporation, following the route the Juni gave them.
***
Gloria walked around the cage. She looked back to when she came here. At first, she had resented the cage, and resented TD for putting her in there. But as time went on, she became used to it, and understood when TD explained to her that it wasn’t his decision to lock her in there. And its not as if she was bored, or lonely. TD would bring her books to read, and movies to watch on the TV screen in her cage. Oftentimes, TD would sit with her, and they’d play a game of cards, or sometimes, just talk. He often talked to her about how he felt about his boss, Rick. He didn’t seem to like him very much. In fact, he didn’t seem to like his job at all. He would tell her about how he was tired of doing Rick’s dirty work, but feared for his own life too much to quit. But recently TD had stopped coming around. He’d visit maybe once a week, and rarely ever stay long. She was beginning to get upset at him ignoring her all the time. And she began to count the days. It had been almost two weeks since she last saw TD, and she was beginning to get bored. She had a feeling he was planning something big, but she still felt lonely in the cage by herself. Gloria sat down on the plush carpet and waited for him to come.
***
“Chad, you smell like shit!” Dirk whispered. His face was right behind Chad’s ass, which of course is bound to happen crawling through an air duct.
“Sorry. It’s just that in an uncomfortable position like this-”
“I know, I know. Just move. dammit!” about five minutes later, Chad suddenly stopped.
“Dirk! I think this is it.” Chao said.
“This is the room? Really?” Dirk grabbed a screwdriver out of his backpack and began to unscrew the vent.
***
Gloria was still sitting on the plush carpet, watching a love story, when suddenly she heard a small “clink” like something hitting the floor. She paused the movie and listened carefully. Another clink sounded. While she tried to pinpoint where the noise was coming from, she heard a third clink, then about five seconds later, a fourth. Then a strange grating noise, like metal tearing metal. Then, suddenly, A large, soft thump landed behind her. She turned around and stared in shock. There was a tall man with a backpack on, dusting himself off. He turned at her and smiled.

Chapter 7

The guard picked at his lunch, eyes on the monitors. For some reason, the man enjoyed his job, being able to see what was going on in all parts of the building, at the same time. Nothing eventful usually came around much. But not today. In the prisoner's room, the guard watched in shock as two men fell from the air vent. Then he picked up his phone, dialed an extension, and listened to it ring. A voice picked up on the other end. "Rick Sereday here," the voice answered.
"Sir, we have an infiltration in the prisoner's room. Two men dressed in black just fell out of the air vent!"
"Alright then… call the guards in to take them out, please."
"Will do, sir," the guard answered diligently.
***
"Um…. Who are you?" Gloria questioned nervously. She arched her eyebrow in surprise as another man came tumbling out of the air vent, this one not so graceful.
"Dammit, that’s going to leave a big bruise!" Chad complained.
"Hey, Chad. It looks like Rick here is keeping a prisoner. And she actually looks kind of familiar… but I can't put my finger on it." Dirk thought to himself for a moment. And then it hit him. "Are you, by any chance, Gloria from the plane crash that occurred a number of years ago? Your faces and Mosey's were all over the news for weeks. Apparently they never found your body. Are you her?"
"Yes. I'm the same woman. And now it's my turn to ask the questions- who ARE you? And why are you here?" Suddenly, Dirk heard footsteps outside the door.
"This room, here," somebody said outside.
"Well," Dirk muttered, "looks like your questions are going to be put on hold for a while. We have company."
"Hey, Dirk? You… DID put the handgun in our backpacks, right? Because I sure as hell didn't," Chad said. Shit, Dirk thought to himself.
"No- no I didn’t. You mean to tell me that we're weaponless?"
"Yeah. I guess we have to do this the old fashioned way?" Chad asked.
That was fine with Dirk. He loved doing it the old fashioned way.
***
Quick- the intruders are in this room, and they're probably armed," the head guard said to the rest of the guards following him. The guards readied their weapons, and prepared to rush in. The head guard kicked open the door, and made his way inside. Why, they're hiding, He thought to himself. Suddenly, blood began pouring out of a deep wound in his chest. A wound from a long and serrated knife. The guard fell to the ground, dead. And none of the other guards saw it.
***
"Well, I guess it’s a good thing we brought these, huh?” Chad whispered to Dirk as he wiped off the blade. Dirk didn’t answer; his eyes were glued to the doorway. Another guard walked through, and stared right at them.
“Hey!” he yelled as he raised his gun at them. In a smooth, swift motion, Dirk raised the knife and threw. He watched it fly through the air in a smooth arc as it gored the guard right through the eye. Pulling another knife out of his pocket, Dirk crept up next to the door. 2 more guards, the only ones left, ran through the door. Dirk stabbed one through the throat, but didn’t have time to stop the other. The guard ran toward the cage. Leveling his weapon, he tightened his finger on the trigger. Suddenly, A sharp, shiny object pierced through his jugular vein, from behind him. It was Gloria, who had broken A CD in her cage and stabbed the man through the throat with one of the pieces.
Dirk gave her a quick nod. “We’re going to get you out of here, okay?” Searching around the room, dirk found a small button. Pushing it, the cage door swung open.
“Thank you, very much. That cage was… uncomfortable. And I’ve been stuck here for about 8 years!”
“Um… Dirk?” Chad said, who was guarding the door.
“Yeah?” Dirk spun around, and stared in shock at what he saw.
“Going somewhere?” said Rick Sereday contemptuously.

Chapter 8
“Aw, crap,” Dirk muttered to himself. He should’ve known that he would come. Rick wasted no time calling for backup, and when the guards came, Dirk, Chad, and Gloria were rushed into a strange room filled with heavy machinery.
“Well, since you wasted so much time getting here, and you’re all going to die anyway, I might as well tell you what’s really going on,” he said to the three. ‘You see- Lionheart Corps specializes in mining and manufacturing metals- a great business, booming with publicity. But Mr. Mosey had developed a way to change plastics and other materials into metals- a…. change in form, so to speak. While I had no idea how this machine worked, I knew that it DID- which was why, you understand, I couldn’t let him go though with it. It just wouldn’t be good for business. Now, Gloria, she knew of the plans, which was why I couldn’t let her go,” Rick finished.
“And what about Tyler? And your attempt on his life?” Dirk challenged.
“Tyler was working with Mosey on this project. He was the one who planned to distribute the machine to companies across the world, who could use waste to create metal.”
“You bastard!” Gloria yelled. “Mosey was my partner! My friend! And you killed him!” Gloria lunged at Rick. Rick leveled his weapon, and hit her in the arm, not killing her, but wounding her badly.
“I suggest you be more wise than your friend here,” Rick said to Dirk and Chad, “or your fate will be much worse than a shot to the arm.” Dirk knew better than to attack and armed man, so he stood calmly and waited. “So, my good friends,” Rick muttered, “how is it that you would like to die? I am, after all, a nice man,” Rick said with a sick chuckle.
“Well, I think I would like to take you with me when I go,” Dirk said calmly.
“Your friend is a feisty one,” Rick said to Chad. Chad said nothing, just stared at him angrily. Rick walked over to Dirk, and hit him in the stomach with the butt of his gun. Dirk doubled over in pain.
“Take them to the torture room,” Rick said with an evil grin.
***
TD stood over a box in the torture room. He had heard about everything that had happened in the building. He also knew that Rick would take the two intruders here before the death that would seem so sweet to them. He felt sorry for ignoring Gloria all this time. If only she knew what I had in store for that bastard, TD thought to himself. He pushed a button on the machine inside the box, and a 15-minute countdown began.
***
Dirk, Chad, and Gloria were shuffled down a hallway into a small room with one bed. “Hello, TD,” Rick said. “Did you finish the job with Tyler yet?
“No, I didn’t,” he said, “and I’m not going to. I’ve lived under your oppression for fear of my own life, but I don’t care about my own life anymore. It’s time for this to end, Rick.”
Rick looked past TD at the small machine with the red timer. And suddenly he realized what was going on. TD had a bomb.

Chapter 9
“Ok, TD. I’m listening. What do you want?” Rick asked.
“Well, Rick, see here is a bomb with a password. Only I know the password, and only I can stop it. So here are my demands- you let Gloria and the other two go.”
All right, fine. Is there anything else?” Rick asked. He had no problem, as soon as TD gave up the bomb, he would kill him and the other three.
“No, there’s nothing. All I want is for Gloria to live a safe life.” The countdown on the bomb hit 10 minutes.
“Guards!” Rick yelled, ‘escort the prisoners out of the building. Make sure they make it out safely.” Gloria looked at Td, straight into his eyes. The look in them revealed everything to her. Gloria rushed over to TD and grabbed him.
“You can’t do this,” Gloria whispered in his ear.
‘I have to,” he replied softly. “I want you to live your life well- prosper and become successful. Do it for me- no, do it for us.”
“I will,” she whispered, crystal tears in her eyes. She let go of him, and let the guards escort her out.
“Gloria!” he yelled.
“Yes?’ she replied, hopeful he had changed his mind.
“My real name…. Is David.”
And then she was gone.
***
“Alright, TD. I did what you asked. Now turn the bomb off, and lets talk about this.” TD pressed a series of codes on the bomb. He pressed a small button. Rick watched in horror as the timer went down a minute. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” he yelled. “YOU’RE GOING TO KILL US ALL!”
The timer went down another minute.
“You, Rick, are never going to hurt another person again.” He pushed the button again. “That- was for all the time I spent under your thumb.”
“No!” Rick screamed.
TD pushed the button again. “That- was for Mosey’s death”. He pushed it another time. 6 minutes left. “That- that was holding Gloria prisoner.”
“No, TD, lets talk about this now!” Rick’s voice took on a hint of desperation as TD pressed it again.
“That was for endangering the life of Tyler Moore.” He pressed it once more. “And this- well this is for the life of Pat, an innocent, faithful bodyguard.
TD pressed it again. 3 minutes left. “This is for endangering the life of Dirk.”
He pressed it once more. 2 minutes left. ‘That’s for endangering Chad.”
He pressed it once more. 1 minute and 10 seconds left. “That’s for all the others you’ve killed.
He pressed the button one more time. “And that…. That’s just because I hate your stupid fucking guts.
The timer went down.
9.
8.
7.
6.
“Hey, Rick? It looks like you’re out of time.”
3.
2.
1.
***
Dirk listened as an ear- pounding boom Shook New York City. And as the citizens ran around in panic, Gloria steadied herself against Dirk and cried.

Epilogue
2 months later
“So, did you like dinner?” Dirk asked. Gloria let out a small laugh.
“I loved it, she said.
“Okay, good. Ill be back in a minute, I just need to grab something from inside. You wanna come in?” Gloria had never been inside Dirk’s house before. Since he was a collector, she figured his house was full of interesting items. What she didn’t know is that she was about to walk into a treasure trove of old airplanes, cars, and boats that made up his home.
As soon as Dirk opened the door, he knew something wasn’t right. He inspected the inside of his collection hangar, and realized something was amiss: The camera that looked over the hangar was covered. Dirk always made sure it was working before he left, which could only mean one thing: somebody was in there, waiting for him. And they didn’t want to be seen.
Dirk walked through the door and looked around, acting unaware of what was going on. He weaved his head to the left just as a speeding bullet when whizzing past his ear. No time for games now, Dirk rushed for the safety of his collection, the only place to hide.
* * *
Damn, Nudi thought to himself. Dirk knew that he was there. He loaded another bullet into his sniper rifle, all the while searching for movement. He found Dirk moving through a collection of old Fords, took aim, and fired again.
* * *
Dirk cringed as another bullet flew by his head. He was trying to make his way over to the small handgun hidden in the glove compartment of an old Avios Voisin, one of his favorite collectors items. Reaching the car, he grabbed the handgun out of the compartment, took aim, and fired at the assassin. The aim was true, and it struck him between the eyes.
* * *
An hour later, as the police carted the body away, Dirk thought to himself. After the incident with Lionheart Corps, people would be after him for a while. Rick Sereday had many connections, and even in death he would still have a long reach. And that was fine with Dirk. He wasn’t going to stand down to anybody.
He would stand up and fight for his life.

Computer- made Signatures

<table align="bottom" It changes the average soccer game into an action packed soccer game that features some of the best Nintendo characters. From Mario to Petey they’re all here. This game is for any sports fan; actually you don’t even have to like sports to play this. As long as you’re able to pick up a wii remote before you’ll know it you will be immersed in great and exciting gameplay.

Gameplay- Mario Strikers Charged consists of four main modes Domination, Road to the Striker Cup, Challenge, and wi-fi Connection. The game lacks a real story mode, but makes up for it in wi-fi connection mode. In Road to the Striker Cup you will compete for three cups to unlock characters and stages. In challenge mode you will take on challenges that will put you up against difficult tasks. In Domination mode you can hone your skills or have it out against a friend. Where this game really shines is the wi-fi connection mode. You can play with your friends’ nation wide and push yourself to be on the top of the leader boards. Your friend can also join in on wi-fi. After a while it can get repetitive, but after you stop playing it for about five days once you pick back up that wii remote it will feel as good as new.

Graphics- the graphics are very nice and it seems like they didn’t rush this one. The only thing I don’t really like about the graphics is that the characters can sometimes look like dolls. This game has some of the best character animations thus giving each character it’s own unique feel and personality.

Sound- The sound is very crisp, but can get pitchy sometimes. None of the characters voice sounds annoying and the sound effect for skill shots and mega strikes are very well done. Nintendo also took great care on having the sound right for almost everything. The sound if hearing the metal ball clank every time it’s passed to the sound you get when you hit a goal post. The sound isn’t the greatest, but it’s very well done.

Difficulty- At first the controls are a bit hard to use, but after a solid hour of game play it’s like moving your right arm. It will take a while for anyone to master the game since each character has it’s own tactics. When you first go online it will seem like everybody is better than you, but after a while you will learn some new tactics and be able to beat some people online. This game is actually really hard to completely beat with the difficult of winning all three cups and beating all of the challenges.

In the end this is one of the best Wii games out there whether or not you even like soccer. The online play also tells you how well the connection is by giving you a one to four star rank this way you won’t get in matches with too much lag. The replay value is also great and it’s something for the entire family. In the end I would give this game an 8.5/10. It has great game play, but the lack of one player mode is where it fall shorts.

8.5/10

Mortal Kombat: Armageddon- Submitted by J0k3r-Jeremy-

The Trilogy of 3D Mortal Kombat Games.

If you are familiar with the Mortal Kombat series you will know how this game is. There is a lot of blood splatter, kicks and punches. Mortal Kombat Armageddon is similar to MK: Deception and Deadly Alliance. The fighting engine hasn't changed much at all. This really isn't a bad thing but it is starting to show some age. In this game they basically take all the things from previous MK games and jam pack it in one game. Every single character from the MK fighting series is in here. Its really cool to have all these characters and it adds to the replay value. All the levels are not present in this game. There are only about 17-20 levels in the game. I was a little dissapointed by this but its not such a big deal.

The newest additions to the MK series in this game are Kreate A Fighter, Motor Kombat, Taven/Daegon characters, Kreate a Fatality and in the Wii version Endurance mode. These new additions to the series are great but I have to say I was a little dissapointed in the Kreate a Fatality system. You basically link together a combo of limb ripping and punches to do a really gruesome fatality. The system works okay but it gets repetitive pretty fast even though you use WiiMote/Nunchuck movemesnts to preform them. I actually prefer the older character specific fatalities. Another one of the new additions that is a little dissapointing is Motor Kombat. It is basically a Mario Kart rip off with MK characters and lots of blood. Its pretty fun but you will find yourself playing it only 5 or 6 times before it becomes boring. The graphics are pretty good. All of the characters and environments look good. I do think they could look better especially for a Wii game. Never the less they look good and all the limb ripping and blood splatter makes the game look awesome.

As you may know the Wii version features a new control system with the WiiMote and Nunchuck. Basically you use gestures of the wiimote for special attacks and you punch and kick with the D-PAD. It feels akward for the first 15 minutes but once you get used to it the game feels fine. Sometimes the response on the Wiimote is not the greatest but I found this happening to me very rarely. The new gestures actually make preforming special attacks very easy.

Mortal Kombat Armageddon should last you a while. They have a new improved Konquest with shaolin monks type fighting and a bunch of other features like the krypt. Once you've unlocked everything you will still probably be coming back to play some versus with your friends. Also getting all of the endings takes quite a while.

All in all MK: Armageddon is a great addition into the MK series. If you like the MK series and don't already own the Xbox or PS2 versions you should pick this up. I really enjoyed it. MORTALLL KOMMMBBAATTT!!!

SCORE: 8.7/10

Excite Truck- Submitted by J0k3r-Jeremy-

Get Ready For a Fun and Exciting Racer!

Excite Truck is an off road truck racing game for the Nintendo Wii. The game is really innovative because you steer the wiimote like a steering wheel. You turn it left and right to steer and up and down to tilt your truck in air.

Excite Truck is really fun. There are basically 3 modes. There is Excite Race(The Main Cup Racing Portion), Versus(2 players only in a race without CPU) and Challenge Mode(A bunch of different challenges like jumping through rings). There is also a tutorial but I don't think that counts. The controls are pretty awesome. You steer the WiiMote like a steering wheel. You hold down the 2 button for gas. The 1 button is reverse. There is also the turbo where you hit the dpad in any direction to turbo. Doing turbos right when you go off jumps make you go way higher. There is a little bit of a learning curve when you first play but it will feel awesome when you get used to it. You don't just race for first place. There is a strategy to it. You need to collect a certain ammount of stars to win the race. You get them by doing all sorts of different things. For example flying through wings in air, getting a lot of air, driving through trees, drifting, smashing trucks and even crashing. The trucks go really fast. There are 18 trucks I think. They all are different in stats. I think Excite Truck is very fun.

For the most part the graphics in Excite Truck are great. The trucks are cool looking. There are great reflections. There are cool dirt and water affects also. The water splashes around when you drive through it. The dirt kicks up in the air when you drive through it. Pretty detailed, especially the levels. There are mexican cactus and rocky area. The giant forest and the running rivers in Canada. The bamboo forests and the small lakes in China. The snow and glacier filled Finland. You get the point. The only complaint I have is when you see the trees close up they look pretty bad. Same with the cacti. You won't really notice though when your driving by them really fast.

The sounds in this game are really good. The revving motors and the glass shattering crashes all sound great. My favorite thing about the sound is that you can use and SD card to listen to music while you race. Just put your music on it and insert it and listen to your tunes. I enjoy racing to AC/DC, Metallica, Led Zeppelin and many more. The only complaint I have is the basic starting music is really bad. It's loud and horrible sounding. You really should have an SD card or just turn off the music.

Playing the cup races is really fun. Trying to smash and get ahead of one other person in versus is also really fun. Playing the Challenge mode because you need a challenge is prettty fun also. This part of Excite Truck is also the most lacking. There are basically only 3 modes. There could have been more. You can only have 2 players in Versus. The challenge mode only has three categories. The trucks only have 2 paint jobs. It would have been awesome with online play. Despite these flaws the game is still pretty awesome. Excite Truck is pretty hard when you get to the harder modes. Trying to unlock all the trucks will take a while. Overall 8.6/10: Excite Truck is really innovative and fun. The idea is great despite a few flaws. If they make a sequel improving on all the flaws and giving it online play it will be a extremely awesome must have game. If you already have Zelda Twilight Princess and are looking for another Wii game this is a great second wii game choice. Go pick it up or atleast rent it.

SCORE: 8.6/10

Metroid Prime 3: Corruption- Submitted by Novaflame

My reaction when I first played Metroid Prime 3: O_O. Yup Words can't even describe it, this game is simply incredible. Please remember when reading this review, the only other Metroid game I have played is Hunters for the DS.

Story: 8.5/10
While not totally epic, the story is pretty good. It is told through Voice Acting which is a big plus for Nintendo who has always been against VA. The actual story is decent. The characters are developed well and seem like they have their own personality, but the story itself seems a tiny bit shallow. However, I never felt like Metroid games were about story anyway.

Graphics: 9/10
This is one of those O_O moments for a Wii owner. This is the best looking game on the Wii by a looooong shot. The textures are beautiful although they can be bland sometimes. Each world seems like it has its own atmospheric aura about it mainly because of how they look. Scenery is excellent, and each of the various enimies look unique.

Gameplay: 9.5/10
True Metroid gaming with a bit more FPS in it. There is more fighting and action this time around, but that's not neccessarily a bad thing. There is still the usual amount of searching and exploring, but now there seems to be a bigger emphasis on big battles. There are also objectives in this game which is a rarity in Metroid games. The best part for me was the boss battles. Each one was epic in it's own way. I wont spoil anything but every single boss I have fought, wants me coming back for more.

Control: 10/10
Perfect, absolutly perfect. On advanced setting the control is percise, accurate, and excellent. I even forgot I was holding the Wii Remote in one boss battle because it seemed so fluid and natural. On advanced setting, you turn as your aiming reticule approaches the side of the screen, a nice touch. For certain switches and what not you must do things such as: pull the Wiimote back, turn it counter-clockwise, then push it back in. Telling this to you, you may think it is gimmicky. I say it is not, it is just something else that actually enhances the expierience even more.

Sound: 9/10
Very good. Just about at epic level. Not much else you can say about it except: VOICE ACTING FTW!!!

Replay: 9/10
Three difficulty settings, awards, WiiConnect24 compatibility, lots of replayability here. You can purchase certain awards and send them to friends via WiiConnect24.

Overall: 9.5/10
Just about perfect. This game simply put, is Epic. There really is no other expierience like it on the Wii right now. If you do have a Wii, stop reading this and go get Metroid Prime 3: Corruption NOW.

Kirbys Adventure- Submitted by luigi_cool

Kirby’s Adventure (NES VC)
By: luigi_cool
Kirby is back in his second adventure! This is the first game to feature the copy ability and it was amazing! With many unique and fun levels this game is truly a masterpiece. Each enemy and boss each has it’s own strategy to their defeat. I find this to be one of the best NES games and Kirby game in the series. There are also the mini games. This is consists of three humorous games. My favorite is quick draw.

Graphics- The graphics are truly amazing. It pushed the graphics of the NES to its limits and it succeeded in making a true graphical achievement. This is one of the best looking NES games. It really showcases all of the characters personality from Kirby to Dedede and even waddle doo. The motions of the characters are also very smooth they don’t seem like dolls or stuffed animals at all.

Sound- The sound is amazing! Each place has it’s own whimsical feel adding even more to the game. Another great achievement of this game. I have to say that everything is here with the sound from the hammer of King Dedede to just swallowing an enemy. The sound is very crisp and clear. This soundtrack is one of my favorite soundtracks in any of the other Kirby games.

Difficulty- This game seems long at first, but after a while it doesn’t seem very long. But getting full completion will defiantly take a while. The game is pretty easy, but may be difficult at first. After a while you should be able to get thru ought the game quite easily. So this game is pretty easy, but will be hard to complete.

This game is one of my favorites. And is you’re able to you should make sure to pick this one up. One of the best NES games out there. I hope all of you get a chance to play this game. The replay value is so/so. It may get a bit repetitive at times, but it’s always fun to pick up and play again. In the end I would have to give this game a 9.3/10. I hope the new Kirby Wii game comes out as great as this one.

9.3/10
